Future of the model

It is not certain whether a replacement for the ageing Grand Vitara is coming or not. If it is coming, it won't be anytime soon, as Suzuki is currently focusing on releasing smaller models.

Suzuki’s UK Sales Manager Dale Wyatt in an am-online interview stated that a new midsize SUV could also be coming in 2015, while Suzuki Australia’s Manager, Andrew Moore, said that a new midsize SUV that will replace the Grand Vitara is in development, but it is still a number of years away. He also stated that a 7-seater version of the model could also be coming, acting as a belated successor to the XL-7.

But in late 2015, when Suzuki held a media test drive event for the All-New Vitara, Dale Wyatt stated that Suzuki has 6 new models coming within the next 3 years, and a replacement for the Grand Vitara is not one of them.
